ABS-CBN's Apology to UPLB



ABS-CBN news apologized to the UPLB students, on Saturday Spt 19. in response over the online demand of the UPLB community over inaccurate reporting.



The incident happen on Tuesday September 15, when VP Binay having a forum at the university and the students chanting "Trapo (TRAditional POlitician)" according to the news report. The Students shouted "Sample Sample!" teasing VP Binay to show his dance moves when he appeared on the stage as a guest for the UPLB "Forum on Governance, Transparency and Social Transformation". Where VP Binay roasted by the students in a no-holds barred forum at the UPLB. Some of the questions asked are: about the informal settlers in Makati, corruption, agrarian reform and human rights violations. ABS-CBN News reported that the students teases the VP with the chants "trapo" and in a seperate story, that the VP felt disrespected at the forum according the the news agency.

The UPLB Student Council post an open letter directed to ABS-CBN News via their Facebook account about the inaccurate reports of the News Network.

ABS-CBN said: "ABS-CBN News expresses its sincerest apologies to the students of UP Los Banos for the errors committed by ABS-CBNnews.com in 2 articles about the forum of UP Los Banos students with Vice President Jejomar Binay last September 15,"

and added: “In our effort to provide a more comprehensive coverage of the forum, one of our writers mistook the word 'sample' for 'trapo.' We immediately corrected this right after we were alerted about the mistake on September 16, 2015,”
