Jumped off the 86th floor of the Empire State Building, and LIVED

December 2, 1979, a woman named Elvita Adams age 29 was suffering from depression, decided to take her own life. She went to the Empire State Building to the observatory on the 86th floor. She scaled a seven foot fence and jumped off. Luckily, a very strong wind gust blew her back toward the building and she landed on a ledge on the 85th floor and survive. Having only a fractured hip.
