Heneral Luna - as the country's official entry to the 2016 Oscars for the category Best Foreign  Language Film. At their FB page they post “We are happy to announce and share with everyone the good news: HENERAL LUNA has been selected as the Philippines’ Official Entry to the 2016 Oscars in the Best Foreign Language Film Category!”

Heneral Luna - directed by Jerrold Tarog, shows the life and death of General Luna during the Philippine American war. John Arcilla, one of the Philippines Best Actor, plays the title character, as the most brilliant military general of Emilio Aguinaldo's Government.

"Luna was supposed to have been a great general. What the film is telling its viewers is that it is also important to look at our past, especially those of our real-life heroes and of what they have done for the country,” - Mel Chionglo source Inquirer.
